The Association Reunions are typically scheduled for various locations around the country where Knowles ancestors were located in the 18th or 19th centuries. Locations for the Reunions are also selected for ease of access, proximity to research facilities, and/or the convenient availability of recreation areas and sightseeing.
The 2004 Reunion was held in Evansville, Indiana starting on Thursday, April 29. Evansville is located in south central Indiana on the Ohio River near Posey and Gibson counties, where a number of the "Old Silverhead" Knowles and other allied families settled in the early part of the 19th century.
The Headquarters Hotel for the 2004 Reunion was the Executive Inn in downtown Evansville (see map below). All of the Reunion meetings and functions (except for Jimmy's Tour and the Willard Library visit) were in the Executive Inn. The Hotel has arranged for a block of rooms for Association members and guests at reduced rates for the April 29, 30 and May 1 period.

Here are a few of the things planned. On Thursday, April 29th we will caravan by car on "Jimmy's" tour. Jimmy's tour (named for Jimmy Van Zendt Knowles, s/o Forman Enis Knowles (1873-1952), who conducted this tour at the 1996 KKNFA Reunion) will take us to the site of the famous 1896 Knowles Family Reunion, the Knowles Station (a train stop) and to various Southern Indiana cemeteries where the Knowles, Knoles and allied families are buried. We will then drive up to Princeton to visit their library and court house. The Princeton Library has a great deal of genealogical material and the court house has plat maps.
On Friday, April 30th, we will tour the Willard Library in Evansville (812-425-4309) and if you wish to do research, the Willard has a great amount of relevant Knowles material. On Friday evening we will gather for a social and visit time at the Executive Inn.
On Saturday morning we will convene the Reunion Business Meeting. Officers for the 2004-2008 term are to be elected during this meeting. Lunch will be served in the same room so that we can continue to visit. After lunch we will complete the Business Meeting and have several genealogy related presentations.
